Your Morocco Questions, Answered

What is the best time of year to visit Morocco?

The best times are the shoulder seasons: April-May and September-October. The weather is pleasant, perfect for exploring cities and nature without the intense summer heat.

Yes, Morocco is generally a very safe country for tourists. Like any travel destination, it’s wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded souks. We share detailed safety tips on our blog.

Citizens from the EU, USA, Canada, and many other countries do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. Always check the latest requirements for your specific nationality before you travel.

Morocco is a Muslim country, and modest dress is recommended, especially when visiting religious sites. For women, this means covering shoulders and knees. For men, long shorts or trousers are appropriate. In tourist areas and modern cities, the dress code is more relaxed, but respectful attire is always appreciated.

The official currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). You cannot obtain it outside of Morocco. It’s best to withdraw cash from ATMs at the airport or in cities, as they offer good exchange rates. While credit cards are accepted in modern hotels and restaurants, cash is essential for souks, small shops, and taxis.

In major tourist areas like Marrakech, Fes, and coastal towns, you can get by with English. However, learning a few basic Arabic words like “Salam” (Hello) and “Shukran” (Thank you) will be greatly appreciated and will open many doors. We have a guide with useful phrases on our blog!

No specific vaccinations are required for entry into Morocco. However, it’s always a good practice to ensure your routine vaccinations (like tetanus) are up to date. For any health-related advice, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor or a travel clinic before your trip.
